Everyday Comfort, with Help from the Sun

Adjust your light and privacy with a motorized roller shade made to your dimensions. The KF80-38 pairs a rechargeable motor battery with a solar charging panel, while its square cassette gives your window a clean, finished appearance. Choose from multiple fabrics and headrail colors to complement your room.

Solar Charging

Recharge the Built-In Battery

The shade operates from the battery built into its motor. A connected solar panel converts available sunlight into electricity to help recharge that battery through the headrail’s USB-C port.

Smart Convenience

Remote Control & Tuya Smart

Raise, lower, or stop the shade using a remote control. Tuya Smart support is available through a compatible smart-control setup. Confirm whether your selected configuration requires a separate hub for app control.

Aluminum Alloy

Square Cassette & Bottom Bar

The aluminum-alloy cassette conceals the roller mechanism, while an aluminum-alloy bottom bar finishes the lower edge. The square profile brings a structured, streamlined look to your window.

Hardware Details

Integrated Metal Side Brackets

Built-in metal side brackets support the cassette structure. Concealed end-cap screws keep the hardware neatly integrated without exposed screw heads on the finished end-cap surface.

A Simple Solar Charging Connection

Connect the solar panel to the USB-C charging port on the underside of the headrail using the USB-A to USB-C cable.

Solar Panel → USB-A to USB-C Cable → Headrail Charging Port
Step 1

Connect to the Solar Panel

Insert the USB-A end of the cable into the solar panel’s USB-A port.

Step 2

Connect to the Headrail

Insert the USB-C end into the charging port underneath the headrail. Route the cable clear of the fabric, roller mechanism, and moving parts.

Panel Mounting Adhesive

3M double-sided tape
For glass or headrail mounting

Review your selected configuration for the solar panel, charging cable, mounting tape, and smart-control accessories included with your order.

Two Ways to Mount the Solar Panel

Choose a position that lets the solar cells face incoming daylight without being blocked by the shade or window frame.

Method 1

Mount on the Window Glass

Apply the double-sided tape to the designated front-edge mounting areas on both sides of the panel. Attach the panel to the indoor side of the glass with the solar cells facing outward toward daylight. Keep adhesive clear of the active solar-cell area.

Method 2

Mount on the Headrail

Apply the double-sided tape to the back of the panel and attach it to a suitable window-facing surface of the headrail. Position the solar cells toward daylight and make sure the panel does not obstruct the shade or its mounting hardware.

Clean and dry the mounting surface before applying tape. These adhesive mounting methods are for the solar panel only; install the shade itself using its designated mounting brackets.

iHomeBlinds / Measure Before You Order

Measuring Guide

Follow these steps to measure for conventional blinds and shades. Start by choosing an inside or outside mount, then record your dimensions before placing your order.

Measure Each Window

Measure every window individually, even when the openings look the same.

Record Your Dimensions

When ordering in inches, measure to the nearest 1/8 inch. Keep width and height in the same unit.

Check the Product Page

Confirm the mounting requirements and available size options for your chosen product.

Inside Mount

The blind or shade is installed inside the window recess.

  1. 1. Check the Recess Depth

Measure the usable depth inside your window recess. It must meet the minimum mounting depth shown on the product page. Check for handles or other obstacles that could interfere with installation.

  2. 2. Measure the Width

Measure inside the recess at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest width and enter that measurement as your order width.

  3. 3. Measure the Height

Measure inside the recess at the left, middle, and right. Record the largest height and enter that measurement as your order height, unless your product page instructs otherwise.

Order Width = Smallest measured inside width

Order Height = Largest measured inside height

Example: If your smallest width is 34 3/8" and your largest height is 57 5/8", enter W 34 3/8" × H 57 5/8" in your order. Do not subtract the factory deduction yourself.

Inside mount diagram: measure width at the top, middle and bottom, and height at the left, middle and right.
Measure within the window recess.

Inside Mount: Choose Your Deduction Option

Default Option

3 mm Factory Deduction

We deduct 3 mm (approximately 0.12 inches) from the ordered width and from the ordered height. This is one deduction per dimension, not per side.

Enter your measured opening size without subtracting 3 mm. We apply the selected deduction during production.

Optional Selection

No / No Deduction

Select “No” or “No Deduction” when ordering to cancel the default factory deduction. We will not subtract the standard 3 mm from your entered dimensions.

Before selecting this option, confirm that your entered dimensions allow the fitting clearance required by your product.

Outside Mount

The blind or shade is installed outside the recess, with extra coverage around the opening.

  1. 1. Measure the Width & Add Coverage

Measure across the outside of the window recess at the top, middle, and bottom. Following the illustrated guide, use the smallest width and add 4 inches to calculate your order width.

  2. 2. Measure the Height & Add Coverage

Measure the height at the left, middle, and right. Use the largest height and add 4 inches to calculate your order height.

  3. 3. Confirm the Final Coverage

Check that the planned size covers the entire opening and leaves room for the mounting hardware. Adjust the overlap as needed for your mounting position, trim, handles, and nearby obstacles.

Order Width = Measured width + 4" (101.6 mm)

Order Height = Measured height + 4" (101.6 mm)

Example: W 34 3/8" × H 57 5/8"
Order size: W 38 3/8" × H 61 5/8"

Allow extra coverage beyond the window opening.

This guide applies to conventional rectangular blinds and shades. For specialty products or product-specific exceptions, the measuring instructions and sizing requirements on the product page take priority.
Installation Guide

Traditional Bracket Installation

Inside mount & outside mount instructions for bracket-mounted blinds and shades.

Before You Start: Check the Headrail

Installation brackets are usually attached to the headrail for shipping, rather than packed separately. Remove the brackets from the headrail before installing them. Secure the brackets to the mounting surface first, then attach the headrail.

Check the headrail and all packaging before assuming any parts are missing. If brackets are missing or lost, please contact customer service before installation.

Identify Your Bracket Type

The bracket style depends on your product and mounting method. Use the brackets supplied with your shade and follow any model-specific instructions.

Inside Mount

Compact Brackets

Inside mounting typically uses smaller brackets secured to the top interior surface of the window opening. The shade sits within the frame.

Outside Mount

Wall-Mount Brackets

Outside mounting typically uses larger, angled brackets secured to the wall or suitable trim above the window. The shade sits outside the opening.

Selected Products

Two-in-One Brackets

Some products use the same bracket for both mounting methods. Use the mounting face and screw holes specified for your chosen installation.

Bracket shapes, release mechanisms, spacing, and minimum mounting depths vary by model. This guide covers traditional screw-mounted brackets, not no-drill tension systems.

Tools & Fixings

Measuring tape, pencil, level, screwdriver, drill, and screws or anchors suitable for your mounting surface. Check for hidden wiring, pipes, and other obstructions before drilling.

Installation Video

Use the video and step-by-step images as a visual reference. Follow the instructions supplied with your product if its bracket design differs.

Start Here: Prepare Your Brackets

Complete Steps 1–3, then follow the inside mount or outside mount instructions below.

1

Remove the Pre-Attached Brackets

Check the headrail for brackets attached during shipping. Release each bracket according to its clip or locking mechanism, without forcing it. Keep all brackets and fixings together for installation.

Step 1: Remove the inside mount or outside mount brackets attached to the headrail.
2

Measure & Mark the Positions

Hold the headrail at the intended mounting position, check that it is level, and mark the bracket locations. Follow your product instructions for bracket spacing and any additional support brackets.

Step 2: Measure and mark the bracket installation positions.
3

Mark the Screw Holes & Drill

Set the headrail aside. Use each bracket as a template to mark its screw holes, then drill the appropriate pilot holes. Use anchors or other fixings suitable for the mounting surface where required.

Step 3: Position the brackets at the markings and drill the screw holes.

Inside Mount Installation

Attach the brackets to the top interior surface of the window opening.

4A

Secure the Inside Mount Brackets

Screw the compact brackets into the prepared mounting positions, keeping them aligned. If your product uses two-in-one brackets, use the top-fixing holes specified for inside mounting.

Step 4A: Secure the inside mount brackets with screws at the top of the window opening.
5A

Attach the Headrail

For the clip-in brackets shown, hook the headrail into the front of the brackets, then rotate it down until it snaps into place. Support the headrail until every bracket is fully engaged.

Step 5A: Hook the headrail into the inside mount brackets and rotate it into its locked position.

Outside Mount Installation

Attach the brackets to the wall or suitable trim above the window opening.

4B

Secure the Outside Mount Brackets

Fasten the outside mount brackets at the marked positions, keeping them level and aligned. For two-in-one brackets, use the wall-fixing holes specified for outside mounting.

Step 4B: Secure the outside mount brackets to the wall above the window.
5B

Attach the Headrail

For the brackets shown, hook the headrail into the front of the brackets, then rotate it down until it locks into place. Confirm that every bracket is securely engaged before releasing the headrail.

Step 5B: Hook the headrail into the outside mount brackets and rotate it into its locked position.

Final Check Before Use

Confirm that all screws are secure, all brackets are engaged, and the headrail is level. Gently test the shade through its normal range of movement.

If the headrail feels loose or the shade does not operate smoothly, stop and check the installation. Do not force the headrail or operating mechanism.

Missing or Lost Brackets?

First, check whether the brackets are still attached to the headrail or tucked inside the packaging. If you cannot find them, please contact our customer service team.

Include your order number and photos of the headrail and any brackets you received so we can help identify the correct parts. Do not install the shade with missing or incompatible brackets.
